38 Degree’s and MK into the fight

Posted: October 2, 2010 in mebyon kernow, territorial integrity

38 Degree’s has short-listed the Keep Cornwall Whole campaign.

Now we just need as many people as possible to vote for it on the 38 Degree’s website. Equally you can leave comments under the campaign suggestions. You can vote for KCW here: Campaign Suggestions.

This also from Mebyon Kernow:

Dear friend

The Parliamentary Voting Systems and Constituencies Bill is presently going through Parliament. It seeks a reduction in the number of MPs from 650 to 600, with constituencies to be within 5% of the average constituency size. If the Bill is left unaltered, this would mean that Cornwall would have at least one cross-border seat with Devon.

The campaign against the creation of Devonwall parliamentary seats is growing in strength. The cross-party campaign group is organising a “Respect the Tamar” Rally at Saltash on Sunday 10th October and Mebyon Kernow have launched a petition to respect Cornwall borders (contact MK for petition details here).

The “Respect the Tamar” Rally will take place at the Jubilee Green in Saltash at 2.00. It will be preceded by a 1.30-2pm symbolic crossing of the Tamar. A number of speakers have been confirmed.

Why not come along and give your support to this important event. We hope to see you there.

The MK Campaign Team.
